Interim CIO - Transformational Leader - Travel Required (1099 Consultant)

CampusWorks is searching for a Chief Information Officer who will play a critical role in providing strategic and transformational technology leadership across multiple institutions to drive technology alignment and cost savings.

The Challenge
At CampusWorks, we help colleges and universities tackle difficult technological challenges that stand in the way of student success. As CIO, you will lead our client institution in a vital role in ensuring that technology is effectively leveraged to support the cross institutional visions. In this role you will specifically be responsible for leading institutional transformation, enabling the organization to effectively leverage technology to streamline operations across the various institutions and provide the student, faculty and staff experiences desired by the organization.  Some of the specific areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to, the following: 
  • Developing the strategy and implementing the network and communication strategy
  • Developing the longer term approach to their ERP environment to streamline operations across the organization and institutions at a system level
  • Establishing and operationalizing IT and Data Governance for a system that drives transformation
  • Business process transformation across the organization at the system level and cross institutions to drive the highest quality experience and lower costs overall for IT
  • Technology strategic and operational planning at a system level
  • Administrative system design and development to support the system and individual institutions
  • Supporting campus, online, remote and various learning environments across the organizations

We are looking for a talented, passionate individual who has at least 7 years' experience and can show us: 
  • A strong track record as CIO with at least 5 years' experience in a system, college or university environment
  • Talent for managing people and fostering an environment of positive employee engagement and trust
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating diverse groups to an agreed upon outcome that is aligned with the best interest of the organization
  • Experience and innovation with higher education technology solutions
  • Proven success leading an organization through transformation, including at a system level
  • Education requirements: this career opportunity requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of some college and significant work experience. An MBA or master's degree is desirable.
As CIO, you will be engaged as a full-time employee. Your work will be performed at the client site.

‚ÄčWork Environment/Physical Demands:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekend or evening hours may be necessary in emergency situations. This is largely an office environment sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Most work is completed at a client location.  Requires travel to and from the client location via auto and/or air.
